Janet E. Eagen is the Vice President and co-founder
of PECA, a healthcare consulting firm based in Cypress, CA. Ms.
Eagen has twenty-five years experience as a healthcare professional including eight years
as PECA principal, three years as a clinical resource analyst at a
national operations consulting firm and seventeen years experience in progressively
responsible pharmacy positions at two major Southern California healthcare institutions.
In her most recent former position, Ms. Eagen's
duties involved analysis of all systems and procedures associated with materials
management including purchasing, inventory control, distribution, and product
specifications. In these capacities, she conducted detailed value analysis, operational
and financial studies, resulting in six to seven figure savings for each of her client
hospitals.
Prior to this experience, her responsibilities
included inventory management, contract negotiation and management, financial reporting,
product consumption and staff training as both a pharmacy technician and buyer. In
these capacities, she was successful in realizing reduced acquisition costs, enhanced
charge capture, decreased inventories, and enhanced service levels at both institutions.
Currently, Ms. Eagen is involved in all segments of PECA's
consulting practice and has provided special emphasis to the design, development, and
delivery of the pharmacy operations consulting practice. She has recently conducted a
detailed analysis of the utilization and cost of drugs in treatment of A.I.D.S. to assist
a client in forecasting future pharmaceutical expenditures and is conducting a current
project to identify drug resource consumption by product line for a major Southern
California hospital.
Ms. Eagen is also primarily responsible for the
development of the PACERTM program, which assists hospitals in reducing expenses through application of
value analysis techniques. This development has included development and management of the
product data bases, quality assurance programs, design of the engagement programs,
planning and conducting client in-service training programs, product line research, and
maintenance of the clinical product specification data base. She serves as project manager
for every PACERTM
program.
