NCAA-Approved Courses

NCAA

Pathways Early College Academy is proud to offer NCAA-approved online courses to help student-athletes fulfill their NCAA eligibility requirements.

These classes can be started at any time and completed anywhere — offering extra flexibility that fits the training and travel schedules of student-athletes.

College-bound student-athletes who want to play sports at a Division I or II school are required to have completed 16 NCAA-approved core courses upon graduation. Core courses in English, math, social science, and physical science have been reviewed and approved by the National Collegiate Athletic Association as meeting its definition of a core course. Each of these courses is time-bound and meets the NCAA time frame guidelines.

A Candidate For Cognia Accreditation

Cognia

Accreditation is a continuous improvement process that leverages standards to improve educational quality in benefit to its learners and the school community. Using a set of rigorous research-based standards, the accreditation process examines the whole institution—the program, the cultural context, and the community of stakeholders—to determine how well the parts work together to meet the needs of learners.

The Candidacy Review for Pathways Early College Academy took place at their offices in Pasadena, California, on December 4, 2023. The evaluator met with the school principal, Dr. Randall Hoggard, and executive director, Ella Baker. The team is transparent, and most Assurances were met. The institution has practices, processes, and systems in place that support meeting the Cognia Performance Standards.
