Career Symposiums

Honing Passion with Purpose

Students at Pathways Early College Academy attend symposiums twice a week to gain hands-on career experience. Students select from one of three paths: Design, STEM, or Business. Within these paths we provide students with knowledge and resources to complete self-directed passion projects.

Project-Based Learning

Students work on projects in alignment with their coursework to help them apply their learning, build problem solving skills, and gain industry experience. These projects are designed to help students be of service to their communities while also building professional work portfolios.

Professional Experience

We structure our symposiums to model real work environments. Projects are led by industry professionals and mirror internship experiences. Students build their resumes and networks, and have opportunities for leadership, entrepreneurship, and professional development .

Oxford Tutorial System

Tutorials are small, focused

classes that allow teachers to individualize the learning experience for students. These seminar-based sessions are

self-motivated and

discussion-driven to help foster collaboration, intellectual development, and writing skills.

Collaboration

Business students might launch a company that recycles fabric for local fashion designers. This company would collaborate with Design students for dynamic marketing campaigns while STEM students would build secure websites that protect customer data.
