Career Symposiums
Honing Passion with Purpose
Students attend our career symposiums twice per week to pursue their academic passions and apply their learning to real world projects.
Project-Based Learning
We emphasize active learning through hands-on, real-world projects. By working on relevant projects, students become more motivated and invested in their education.
Leadership Opportunities
Project-based learning provides opportunities for students to lead their projects and take initiative in the project's direction. This allows students to develop leadership qualities and take ownership of their learning.
Mentorship & Internships
Students are encouraged to engage with their communities, allowing them to connect with community leaders and organizations. Through these connections, students gain valuable mentorship, develop professional relationships, and find internship opportunities.
Resume Building
Our symposiums involve real-world scenarios, allowing students to gain practical experience and develop relevant skills that employers value. As students work on projects, they can document their achievements, which they can showcase to employers or college admissions.
7 out of 10 of the most wanted skills by employers are soft skills.
In 2021, America Succeeds partnered with Emsi Burning Glass to analyze 82 million job postings from 2019-2020 to quantify the demand for Durable Soft Skills. This report defined these skills as a combination of how you use what you know – skills like critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity – as well as character skills like fortitude, growth mindset, and leadership. This report showed that seven of the ten most requested skills in job postings are soft skills and employers seek these skills nearly FOUR times more frequently than technical or hard skills.
Collaborative Environment
Students work in groups to complete projects, and this presents an opportunity for students to develop skills such as communication, delegation, problem-solving and decision-making. Students learn to work as a team and take on roles based on their strengths and interests.
